SunriseHarfordIt’s been an abrupt change this week from reaching our hottest temperature of the year (97F) to dropping into the lo 60s and 50s north of Baltimore.  The humidity will creep up a little, and only a few clouds were in the morning sky as Kendra Cieslik captured this stunning sunrise photo at her home in Harford County.  This is typical summer weather, but here are a few subtleties to keep in mind along the way including the timing of storms and next surge of heat.

Screen Shot2015-07-25 07_48_57A light increase in the humidity today, but high pressure is still in control.  A weak cold front will arrive Sunday evening with a chance of rain. This is the type of event that will flare up in southern Pennsylvania, then drop south but lose intensity crossing though Maryland. Most of the weekend will be fine! The threat of rain arrives late Sunday evening and at night (if at all).  But there will be a better chance on Monday afternoon. So if you are off next week, consider a plan B that day.  Then the heat will build in for a few days bringing us back deep into the 90s.
