Friday May 20 – Let’s face it, there is no way to avoid the rain this weekend. The storm on Saturday will be with us by daybreak and last much of the day. The only debate now is whether it settles down in the afternoon or not. But one agreement on all models is that the heaviest rain will be in southern Maryland with over 2 inches possible by Sunday morning. Baltimore might be closer to 1 inch, but expect a muddy track at Pimlico most of the day. This will be soggy for the St. Michaels Half Marathon and may wedding. Sorry.
The full moon often helps storms reach full potential and that applies this time. As for Sunday, the storm will be well off the coast, but the unsettled atmosphere will produce more showers in the afternoon. The good news is that we do expect a big warm up to the 80s by mid-week.
Here are the latest forecast maps, simulated radar, and basic storm set up for Saturday.
Arrival: Before Sunrise
