Thursday June 16 – We start today with some fog and a very muggy environment thanks to rain overnight. There has been enough energy left over to produce lightning in some cells this morning. It appears the energy will remain with us all day, and not stabilize from the morning’s activity as the boundary that will focus the storms is stalled just west of Baltimore and Washington. The ironic part of today’s weather is our Flash Flood Watch considering we are now below average on rainfall for the month and year. Storms could produce a quick 1 inch or more and overwhelm drainage. There is also a slight risk of severe storms, but that increases to ‘enhanced’ west of Baltimore. This includes damaging winds over 60 mph and large hail over 1 inch.
Severe Storm Risk
Large Hail Over 1 Inch Diameter
Damaging Wind Over 60 mph
