Heavy Rain And Possible Flooding This Weekend

Heavy Rain And Possible Flooding This Weekend

Screen Shot2016-07-30 08_19_30Saturday July 30- It may feel like it could rain all day, and there will be scattered showers in the area. But the build up of the big storms will fall in line with the classic afternoon and evening time frame. A stalled frontal boundary will help enhance the muggy air to develop some heavy rain producing storms. The outlook for over 2 inches of rain for this weekend seen here is just a suggestion. Like the other night, there could be some spots that receive a lot more, so local flooding is a risk yet again.

Here is a quick look at the timeline for today. It really is a matter of watching the radar light up to track individual cells, but the main cluster of storms will arrive late afternoon and evening to cancel many BBQs. Temps will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Severe Storm Potential

While storms can produce heavy rain, the threat of winds over 60 mph, large hail, or tornadoes is marginal
