October 27 – A storm passing through New York today has shown an early sign of winter to our north. That cold air this early in the season is a sign of the energy involved… and no, the snow will not last long there. But what it means for us, is the energy in the trailing cold front should get more active as it moves through today. Considering the winds are from the southeast feeding Atlantic and Bay moisture into the system, expect the activity to flare up later today. Showers and more thunder (like this morning) is likely to interfere with the commute home and after school sports. Here is a quick look at today’s timeline for the rain. While the cold air behind the storm will be with us Friday, a big warm up will build in over the weekend. Then back closer to normal for Halloween.
