Tuesday Jan 10 – One more band of precipitation is moving through this evening as warmer air aloft pushes out the arctic air mass. In similar fashion to the snow this morning, the chance of icing this evening will be in the colder areas north and west of Baltimore. The National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for the counties in Maryland until 1 AM Wednesday. The Pennsylvania Counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory until Midnight. I would be Ince if the two offices could coordinate, so I apologize both areas are confusing to you. Essentially they are for the same thing… Light Freezing Rain.
This is an evening issue! It may impact your traveling tonight, but we will all thaw around midnight. So school should be on tomorrow. There may actually be a brief moderate to heavy band of rain just after midnight… .With the warmer air! Here is a quick look at the temperatures and the radar simulation to show.
Note: The pink shading in the radar is freezing rain and or sleet.
