9 PM Thursday March 23 – There is a system that will be moving in Friday morning that will push this late season arctic air away and make room for the weekend warm up. The boundary that will arrive will bring a band of rain in the morning, but after sunrise. There was some ice floating around that there could be ice, but I was downplaying that. I wanted to show you the latest information that supports the later arrival and likely not bringing our region ice. That may be the issue before sunrise in western Pennsylvania, west of I-81. This could impact Hagerstown to Chambersburg if the system speeds up. But the local radar simulation below shows it will reach those places after sunrise and with enough warming to be safely thawed.

Morning Temperatures

Yes, it will be near freezing, but that temps should warm with sunrise after 7 AM

I will be up to track the to see if there is any ice closer to York PA or into Maryland is the system speeds up. Then we can focus on the weekend warm up. I will have more on the rain to follow and out moderate drought conditions in the morning report.
