Thursday May 11 – Today is going to turn out wet. Rain is already on the move and will take over the region much of the day as temperatures are likely to stay in the 50s. The short version of this forecast goes like this: Today: Rain and chilly; Friday: Showers, but most likely south; Saturday: Rain, heavy in the morning. Windy and chilly 50s; Mother’s Day: Sun returns with temps getting back near 70ºF.
A little more detail is all about this quasi-stationary front with waves of Low Pressure heading our way. Those waves are the reason that the timing and location of the rain today and tomorrow has been tough to pin down until they get close. But the Saturday storm is the larger system and the pattern changer. More like this trend going out with a bang. So, Mother’s Day should feature the storm moving away, sun returning, and then a warming trend (big time) through next week. Check out the maps:

It is likely that this afternoon will be cooler than this with the rain and chilly winds
