Our weather is improving but you may not notice for a few hours. A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for our area west of the Chesapeake Bay until 9 AM. Visibility may be down under a mile at some spots, but it is patchy and will improve quickly. This is is a signal of the humidity in the air, so as the sun breaks out and we aim for the upper 80s, it will feel every bit like mid summer. There is a slight chance of afternoon storms, mainly in the mountains, but it will be isolated.

Hurricane Gert has winds up to 90 mph and it is expected to get stronger and reach Category 2. But this will be turning away from the east coast. We can thank this turn for allowing the front that produced the strong storms yesterday to move out of our region. But there is one element Gert is leaving behind…

Just as we get this system out of here and back to a typical warm and humid pattern, the next system will increase out threat of storms Thursday and Friday. This should give way to a better weekend. My Maryland Trek Team my just escape the worst as we ride from Frederick to Sykesville, Ellicott City, and Elkridge today. Then Anne Arundel county and across the Bay to Kent Island Thursday.
