Monday October 28 2019

After the deluge on Sunday morning, then the clearing for the afternoon, we have remained clear and mild. Temperatures will be comfortable for late October standards this will before an abrupt pattern change for November. Snow in Denver this morning is a sign of the plentiful cold waiting to swing our way. In between, a storm that will bring us rain on Halloween. But we have hope for the kids as we test a trend I have seen all month with recent storms.

Looking Ahead: Storm Animation

Halloween Rain! It will be wet, but the trend I have seen with recent storms has been for the the entire event to arrive a few hours earlier than model guidance.

The GFS Model shows the rain Thursday ending with a strong storm line Friday morning. Cold air will follow and dominate our start to November.

These snapshots every 3 hours suggest a break in the rain Thursday evening. If the trend continues from recent events, then speeding up everything could bring that break in the rain for Trick or Treaters.

Rain Potential Through Friday

This looks a lot like the forecast (and results) from our last few storms.

Outlook

Thew jet stream will shift the cold air into the eastern US following this storm. The colder pattern will dominate the start of November.

Temperature Outlook

Afternoon temperatures will likely be below average in the lower 50s this weekend.
