Monday February 17 2020
This is not your parents’ Presidents Day weather. This week is well known for some of our largest snowstorms. February 15-18 we set the record snowfall of 26.8″ in 2003. Seven of our top 25 snowstorms in Baltimore have been between Feb 10 and 20, but that was the most recent for this ‘week’. This year however, the most we can see is flurries or light snow later this week.
Trivia: Five of our top 25 Baltimore snowstorms have falling during the month of March. Just Saying…. #FITF.
We do have a chilly start today but it will be dry. The rain expected on Tuesday will be more of an impact on the northern edge during the day, then showers spread south at night. This is what will usher in another brief bout with cold temperatures.

High Temperatures Today
Rain (and snow) impacts the area north of Baltimore in the morning. Some showers on Delmarva will be light.
Afternoon: Steady rain mostly west and north of Baltimore.
Evening: Showers will spread south across the Bay to Delmarva.
Another storm is expecting to pass to our south. on Thursday. This has shifted north since my last report. I expect there will be some more wobbling by the time this verifies.
At this point the hint of snow sneaks into souther Maryland with flurries possibly between Washington and Baltimore at night.
We will have another two days with cold temperatures Thursday and Friday. Another warm up is expected next weekend and next week. Yes, time is running low for chances of snow. If you are dream of a late winter surge, something special would have to happen.
