Monday February 25 2020

After beautiful weather weekend that did NOT feel like February, we have another large storm crossing the nation. After a cold and mostly clear start to the day, clouds will be on the increase ahead of that storm. Today will remain dry locally.

There is little cold air to speak of, so we will get a rain event in two parts. The cold air with the second part will be enough to produce snow for the Great Lakes, including Chicago and Detroit. Our rain on Tuesday will be scatted. The second part may be briefly heavy Wednesday evening.

Morning Temperatures

It is a chilly morning, but the coldest pocket of low 20s appears to be between York and northern Baltimore and Harford Counties.

Monday Afternoon

Storm Animation

This will arrive for us in two parts. First rain develops on Tuesday Morning, but will become scattered showers in the afternoon. A second round of rain arrives on Wednesday and it will be heavy that evening and night.  That second round will be the one that produces a snow event in the Great Lakes including Chicago and Detroit.

Temperature Outlook

Snow Showers Saturday?

I still hesitate to show any computer model outlook more than 5 days away. But with so many asking, this may be the only chance to avoid a snow-free February in Baltimore.   At this point it does not look to amount to much more than a coating.
