Wednesday March 4 2020

The storm complex Tuesday night left a trail of destruction in its wake.  The highest wind report in Maryland was 68 mph in Hagerstown, with over a dozen reports of wind related damage (mostly to trees).

Wind Damage Reports

Tuesday Evening Radar

The bulk of the action was west and north of Baltimore. But rain did reach central Maryland. Meanwhile Baltimore’s BWI continues to be a bubble as there was no rain reported in the evening and the top wind speed at the airport was 37 mph.

The weather will be quiet most of the day. Sunshine and temps near 60ºF. There may be a few rain showers this evening and tonight.  Quite a contrast to 2014, when the all time record low for the month was set at 4ºF.

Next Storm

A large storm will develop into a very strong coastal. This still will mostly be out of our reach, but spread showers our way Friday into Saturday. There may be snow mixed in at times. That is more for awareness not for impact locally. However a fresh coating is possible in the mountains.
