July 16 Heat Dome Will Break Down This Weekend Increasing Storm Risk

beaches

Friday July 16 2021

Uncomfortable heat remains in place today, but there is a change on the way.  The high humidity may spark some spotty afternoon storms, but the action will be more widespread this weekend. That is when we will get some relief with slightly cooler air.

Morning Surface Weather

The line of storms stuck to our west will slowly push east over the next few days.

The main instigating force will remain to our west, but one showers will pop in the afternoon heat.

Radar Simulation

We remain in the environment of scattered showers and storms. These develop in the afternoon heat, and are hyper local. So while most of the region will remain dry, don’t be surprise if you get clipped by one.

Reminder: This product helps with timing, but the coverage has been under represented. We may see more storms than shown here.

Sunshine State Of Mind

I am done with the cold and snow (for the season). I am embracing my wife’s mantra of Sunshine State of Mind.

This was designed by Shannon Berk and we will be wearing it through spring and to the beach.

Double Benefit: Proceeds will be split between our nonprofit Just In Power Kids and the development of my new weather website. That has been scheduled to be ready to launch in May.
